What is the difference between a delivery partner and an embedded developer?

An embedded developer works within your project management, priorities and processes, and you direct the work. A delivery partner brings project management and a development team, and Thorgate manages delivery.

Is an embedded developer the same as body leasing or staff augmentation?

Yes. A Thorgate developer joins your team for an agreed engagement while you direct the day to day work.

Should I choose a fractional CTO or an engineering manager?

A fractional CTO (sometimes called a visiting CTO) focuses on technical direction, architecture and technology decisions. A fractional engineering manager focuses on the team, delivery practices and mentoring. Both work to an agreed mandate, which can combine the two.

Do I need a development team before talking to you?

No. Without a team, a fractional CTO can help with strategy, architecture, vendor choice or planning the team you need, or a delivery partner can build it for you.

Can I choose the developer I work with?

Yes. Once you share your details, every profile is open: request anyone, including people the finder did not suggest. We confirm fit and timing together on a call.

How much does it cost?

We discuss pricing after a call about your requirements, scope and allocation. A budget you share in the finder only helps us prepare; it is not a quote. No rates are shown on this page.

Can I hire someone part time?

Yes. Embedded developers can join your team full time or part time, and fractional leaders work part time by design. Tell us the allocation you have in mind.

How soon can we start, and how long can we work together?

Start dates, duration and notice periods are agreed per engagement, after a call. Choosing a profile does not reserve that person.
